Located in Hacıfeyzullah Mahallesi, a part of Kuşadası, the inner castle was constructed by Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, while the walls were built by İlyas Ağa. Its main purpose was to protect against potential sea attacks during the Morea rebellion. Besides the castle, there is also a cistern on the island. Nowadays, with extensive environmental arrangements, a cafeteria and restaurant have been opened inside the island. Güvercinada, which adds a special beauty to Kuşadası’s values, is illuminated at night and continues to adorn the city with its enchanting view. Besides its historical significance, Güvercinada also offers breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea and the town of Kuşadası. The combination of the castle’s ancient charm and the modern amenities provided on the island truly creates a unique and memorable experience for visitors.
